What you should know about Tarltons Lodge
Peter, Katalina and our daughter Natasha and her partner Dan have managed Tarlton's Lodge since March 2014, and are enjoying the experience. We met in the Vava'u Group of the Tongan Islands, Katalina's birthplace, in 1980 and have been married ever since. Peter was sailing single handed across the Pacific, bound for Australia, in his engineless 25 foot sailboat. Since then, we have travelled overseas extensively, both in our 50 foot steel, blue water sailing yacht which Peter built singlehanded, and while working in the Oil Gas Industry worldwide in many countries Europe, Asia, North Africa, South America, the Caucasus, Turkey, Australia, Canada and the US. Our home base for sixteen years, prior to moving to New Zealand to manage Tarltons Lodge was the Fiji Islands.
We all have fantastic stories to tell and we most enjoy hearing those stories from our guests. Our boutique B B is in Paihia, the heart of the Bay of Islands, New Zealand
We are hoping this summer to make some huge environmental changes in order to diminish our carbon footprint which although sounds contrary, will start with changes to our breakfast menu as well as our own personal diets in the hope of becoming Vegan. What a vast weekend to be had in Paihia with 3 days of music, boasting over 150 hours of quality blues and jazz! On to Paihia news, we've got the Queens Birthday Weekend from Friday the 30th of May to Sunday the 1st of June. Road closures ruined long awaited holidays for some of our guests which I can imagine was frustrating. We are hoping this summer to make some large environmental changes in order to diminish our carbon footprint which although sounds contrary, will begin with changes to our breakfast menu as healthy as our own personal diets in the hope of becoming Vegan. From Dan I here at Carlton's Lodge we hope you had a splendid Christmas and a huge begin to the Fresh Year! We've impartial re opened for summer and are looking forward to another spectacular 8 months in this slice of paradise we call home. Whether being served breakfast on your own private deck each morning, or winding down in your own private spa pool at the final of the day, each one of our three guest rooms has been designed wholly with your relaxation and amusement in mind.
